“…Besides celebrated pianist Angela Hewitt, the 2018 Trasimeno Music Festival will also feature the Camerata Salzburg, pianist Gabriela Montero, soprano Ilona Domnich, the Royal String Quartet, flutist Andrea Oliva and violinist William Chiquito.
Seven concerts in seven days, all designed specifically for the occasion. But the festival has also planned other events (details will be released in the coming months) such as the Festival Preview concert, pre-concert discussions and encounters with special international guests: authors, actors, musicians and personages all of whom have distinguished themselves in their professions (past editions have seen Ian McEwan, Vikram Seth, Julian Barnes, William Fiennes, Madeleine Thien, the musicians Sir Jeffrey Tate, Sir Roger Norrington, Michael Berkeley - the historic photo editor of Life Magazine and The New York Times John G. Morris - British actors Roger Allam and Simon Callow - and others).
"The fourteenth Trasimeno Music Festival takes place during a very significant year for me, letīs just say that in July 2018 the next decade of my life will begin,” Angela Hewitt said about the 2018 Trasimeno Music Festival. “It is also be the year in which I will once again (for the first time in ten years) perform Bachīs Well-tempered Clavier. I wanted to present this masterpiece in its entirety and build the rest of the Festival program around it. It will be my only performance of the famed 48 in Italy and, in fact, one of the few performed in Europe during my Bach Odyssey..”
