The Touring Club Italiano Orange Flag
The Orange Flag is a seal of environmental and tourism excellence awarded by the Italian Touring Club to smaller towns and villages which distinguish themselves for the quality of their hospitality. In the Trasimeno area, Cittą della Pieve and Panicale earned this high honour from among the many fascinating hamlets and villages that dot the region.
I borghi pił belli d“Italia, "Italy’s Prettiest Villages"
The Italian organisation known as the I Borghi pił Belli d’Italia came about to raise awareness of the great historical, artistic, environmental and cultural heritage the small towns and hamlets of this country represent. In the Trasimeno area, Castiglione del Lago, Panicale, Paciano and Passignano sul Trasimeno were admitted as members of this exclusive club, further proof of the liveability of this region. Corciano, also in this area, has just earned membership.
